The wild fire of math starts while we do tests, times, and division. We have been working on multiplaction and division to help us get ready for 5th grade. In division we first wrote a story problem then after that we solved the problem. This will help us solve multiplaction, divisionand write good story problems for the future. We did a test about multiplaction and division. We also had to do a pre-test that was 3 pages long and it was not fun. The next unit is graphs (5/6/10). We put out the fire and started a new unit in math.
ath sheets. In greek mtholgy we learned how gods over powered and betrayed each other gods. Finally, we lerend the box strategy. You drow a sqware with to lines then you take both numbers and add up the sides
then you get your number. thats super star math.

Drawing Silhouettes in Math
In math we have been drawing silhouettes and correcting mountain math. First, in math we have been drawing silhouettes. We use cubes to build a building then draw the top, front, and right side. These will help us with the end of unit test for geometric shapes. Second, we also have been correcting marvelous mountain math. In mountain math we do things from place value to time. There are about 44 questions. All in all, this is what we have been drawing up in math.
Shapes, Shapes, the Magical Shapes
By Adilynn & Erin
Shapes, shapes, magical shapes, learning the names of geometric shapes.
This week in math we are learning about geometric shapes names and silhouettes. Here is a mini list of geometric shapes;
sphere, square prism, hexaganal prism, and a cube. Remember, that list is not even close to all of the geometric shapes. We have also been.working on building with cubes. This helps us understand more about volume and area better. Our math rocked our brains out this week.
The Hail Falls on fractions
By:Quinn ,Adi & Shea
2/26/10
There is a storm of fractions and decimals on it's way to the 4th grade classroom of 2018. Oh, no the hail is hitting at sizes of
9/10(.9) !Now it is 999/1000(.999)!Now now everything is broken into fractions and decimals.perfect!

The Fractionator
This week in math, we have been working on fractions, like 1/2+1/2=1 or 3/6+3/6=6/6 or 1. This will help us understand and be
ready for CSAP. We also havebeen comparing fractions, like which fractions is biger 1/8 or 1/4. This will help us compair
and add fractions when we move up a grade. Now you know how smart we are in math.

by:Jayden & Zach The Smart Fractions in Math
This week in math, we have been working on fractions. We have been working on adding fractions too, like 1/3+2/3=3/3.
This will help us add fractions better when we get older. We also have been working on pie charts for the fractions. For exsample, how much of the blue part is shaded on this pie chart? This will help us know how to shade & how to read fractions when we through out the year. Now you know what we have been working on in MATH.

Marvelous Math
By: Riley and Parker
This week we are learning how to subtract.
l know you`re probably thinking "subtraction?!" l learned that in kindergarten.
Well this subtraction is 10 times harder, like this 76,000-730. At first
we did story problems. Then the teacher had us make little posters for
diferent strategies like the algorithem, breakapart, and# line.
Cant you see how hard this realy is? Read my wiki next week.

Zooming Throgh the Thousands
In math we did addition and subtraction.like:196+625.We either used a algorithm ,breakapart, or number line. We all got 821. While the kids in Mrs.Mulhern's class were making straw cubes, kids back in the classroom made a 10,000 chart. We'll see you next time in math.

Power Polygons
By:Dylan and Erin
Shapes, shapes, shapes. Math this week was all about shapes. There were quadrilaterals, octigons, hexagons, and pentagons. Just for info. quadrilaterals have: ... 4 straight sides, 4 angles, and 4 verticies. Polygons are shapes that have staight sides,no tails, no opened verticies, and no cris crosses. They also have angles!
Thanks for reading!!
Logo Path's
By:OLIVE
This week we started logo path's . It's a computer program where you try to find the perimeter of a closed shape. Before that we did units of mesurment such as:yards, meters, inches, feet,MM.We also learned about the metric system and the U.S.standard.
We had a lot of fun. See my wiki next week.

Magic Zero Math
By Ben & Ryan
Mrs. Brandt's class were tackling their math probs. & smiling 24/7. We have been doing related problems. These types of problems are easy because 3X4= 12 so with 3X40 you just cover up the zero (3X4), do the problem & then just add the zero the answer (120). We were also doing a method called "Add Zero". The way you do the method is that you multiply the first #s first then put however many zeros there are at the end of the answer. We have also been practicing dazzling division and story problems. We also did double digit multiplication & how the "Brake Apart" strategy can help you find the cold, hard answer. Have a nice Thanksgiving from your favorite wiki writers Ben and Ryan!!

A Huge Tsunami of Division
By:Alex
Ban! Splash! What is that, its
division and remanider facts. In math we are are working on writing and solving division and remanider facts. Remaniders are when you have a problem like (you have 5 cookies and 4 kids ) each kid gets 1 cookie and theres is 1 left so you can split it into 1/4.If you have (5 ballons and 4 kids ) you can do whatever you want with the extra ballon because you can't split it. Also we are working on math games to get us better at multipilcation is the writin and multipilcation can help you with division. The tsunami is over and so is the writing, stay tune for next week's math.

Magnificent Math
By: Bella and Jayden
In Magnificent Math we have been working on "Big Array Small Array". This game is all about getting 2 or 3 small arrays to fit into
1 big array. This game game can help us with division. We also learned have been working on multplication stragities. This means we are finding diffrent ways to do multiplication. This can help us with our multiplication/ divison tests. math has been a whirlwind of wizzy mick wizzle.

The data of math
We were working on organizing data. We do that by finding the meadian, range, and mode.we organized the data on a bar gragh and line plot.we are working on muitiplication and the breack apart strategy. The break apart stratagy helps you if if you have a big problem like (9x6) you can split it in half and make it (9x3=27(double it) +27=54). We are working on arrays.arrays are a group of numbetres in a strait line,a sqare or in a rectangle.I guess we are out of roomstay tune for more math next week.

Data is a Key in Math
We picked a question, like how many sports do you play?We are finding the mode, median, outlier, and range. We make graphs every year and we get better at it.This year we are trying to get used to line plots.Every one in our class is organizing data on a green piece of paper. The important things about our graphs are, range, mode, and median.

Math
by:Riley & Parker
We did line plots in math this week. Our life connections was graphing and colecting data to make line plots. The line plot showed the heights of a kindergartner and 4th grader's in inches. We learned that it helps you know how to read data. We also did our first problem of mountain math independentley this week. We studied this hard can you guess? Its our math test.

A Mountain of Math
Written by: Kate and Olive
Our new unit is all about data. We collected data on the number of raisins we had on our desks and we made graphs to show this. Then we measured our class heights and our study buddies heights. We made different representations of our heights compared to our buddies. Our guiding questions is "How much taller is a 4th grader than a Kindergartener?" We'll find out next week! Finally, we finished our Mountain Math tutorial so next week we are on our own!

Multiplication Mania
Written by: Shea and Anna
Lately, we've been climbing through our Mountain Math tutorial. We have also been pairing up factors to equal 100, 200, and 300. This can help us in the future solve multiplication problems. Every Monday is the day we do our time tests. These help us get quicker and better. This also shows Mrs. Brandt how many problems we can do in a specific amount of time. Long live 4th grade Math!!
